Job Schedule: 9/80 - Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off.

 

Job Description:

The Senior Manager will be responsible for strategic oversight, mentoring, SIOP planning and other challenges associated with managing a large and diverse group of Network Engineers. A senior manager brings not only extensive experience in managing large teams, but also a strategic vision to align the staffing capabilities and training with overarching business goals.  The senior manager has the experience needed to implement best practices and streamlined processes. Their leadership will not only enhance the efficiency of our Systems Engineering operations but also foster a collaborative and innovative environment, ensuring the team's adaptability to accomplish and lead the diverse technical challenges presented.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Forecast Systems Engineering Manpower needs based on Program and Potential demand forecast.
  • Determine hiring needs and conduct searches to onboard needed System Engineers.
  • Facilitate effective interaction between project engineers, program management and customers.
  • Support proposal development activities including labor estimation (BOE creation and review) and technical response development.
  • Establish training requirements for continued professional development of the team to meet business goals.
  • Up to 10% travel, may change based on business needs.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Physics, etc.) and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of prior related engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated Senior Manager or Lead Experience in Systems Engineering with a strong emphasis on Networking.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Network Security policies and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience providing directions for Networking Engineering team members, which includes identifying opportunities for team training and skills advancement.
  • Demonstrated ability engaging with internal/external stakeholders at various levels including executive leadership.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active DoW Secret/TOP SECRET/SCI.
  • Analysis of detailed hardware and software specifications for systems, subsystems, and key components experience.
  • Leadership - Task or IPT Leader and/or Functional Management.
  • Entire Program/Engineering Life Cycle Phases and Activities experience.
  • IRAD and Technical Baseline development/management experience.
  • Requirements Management experience.
  • Proposal Development experience.
