Senior Manager, Product Management (PXDP55)

Product Management at Capital One is a booming, vibrant craft that requires reimagining the status quo, finding value creation opportunities, and driving innovative and sustainable customer experiences through technology. We believe our portfolio of businesses and investments in growth and transformation will result in a company with the scale, brand, capabilities, talent, and values to succeed as the digital revolution transforms our society and our industry.

About the Team

Workday touches the lives of all of our associates and serves as the system of record for our HR data. The Senior Manager will drive foundational improvements to ensure a more secure and scalable platform, innovate to increase efficiency, and explore new opportunities to streamline engineer and business team experiences on Workday.

Key Responsibilities

Foundational goals include decreasing cycle time for reviews, releases, and manual processes, including manual coordination, data correction and configuration rework across the platform.

  • Because this is a highly visible role, strong, proactive communication skills are a must with the ability to adapt for different audiences and present in different mediums (slides, PRDs, demos)

  • Identify and analyze new use cases and opportunities for platform enablement (e.g. Workday developer tooling)

  • Partner with Enterprise teams on innovation pilots, developing a targeted strategy with iterative deliverables to determine market fit and best use in the Workday ecosystem

To succeed at the Senior Manager level, the following competencies and skills are essential:

  • Platform and Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of platform architecture, experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Kainos Smart Test, AccelQ), and knowledge of DevOps and integration concepts

  • Strategic Product Leadership: Ability to build a comprehensive, results-based strategy and roadmap and drive the strategy through to delivery

  • Analytical Acumen: Proven ability to conduct deep dive analyses to identify key pain points and define clear, measurable success metrics for platform optimization

  • Process Engineering and Simplification: Expertise in simplifying and streamlining complex business processes to increase efficiency and scalability.

  • Cross-Functional Socialization and Buy-in: Strong partnership skills required to work effectively with partners in Tech, Experience, and Business teams and the ability to socialize the strategy to gain leadership buy-in across a wide spectrum of stakeholders

  • Execution Focus: A strong drive to manage and deliver against an aggressive timeline
