Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Manufacturing Learning & Development to build a world-class learning ecosystem for our North American operations. This leader will support approximately 18,000 employees across multiple manufacturing companies and technical functions, creating the systems and programs that develop the next generation of manufacturing talent.
This role is ideal for a senior leader with deep manufacturing experience who has successfully designed and implemented large-scale learning and development systems in a complex industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and lead acomprehensive regional learning strategy for Manufacturing, Production Engineering, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain.
  • Create structured career development pathways for associates, team leaders, engineers, and managers.
  • Develop standardized technical training programs, competency models, and certification frameworks.
  • Implement blended learning solutions including digital, on-the-job, and instructor-led courses.
  • Partner with operations and HR to ensure training directly improves safety, quality, productivity, and talent readiness.
  • Lead regional learning centers, technical trainers, and instructional design resources.
  • Drive modernization of training through digital tools, simulation, and automation-related skill development.

Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, engineering, or learning and development.
  • Proven track record of implementing structured learning systems in a manufacturing organization.
  • Experience designing programs across multiple technical functions.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence across a large, matrixed organization.
  • Expertise in competency frameworks, curriculum design, and organizational development.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in automotive or high-volume industrial manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, quality systems, PFMEA/PCS/change management, and technical skill development.
  • Familiarity with digital learning content, and advanced training technologies (VR/AR, simulation).
