Annual Compensation: $110,000 - $120,000
Position Type: Full Time, Hybrid (3 Days on-site in Colchester, VT)
VIP is seeking a Senior Data Architect with expertise in dimensional modeling to design, implement, and optimize our enterprise data warehouse and analytics solutions. This role is instrumental in helping beverage distributors, suppliers, and retailers make data-driven decisions through scalable and high-performance data architectures. We are looking for a motivated self-starter who enjoys collaboration and innovation.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design and document Kimball-style data warehouse solutions
  • Design and document OLTP database solutions
  • Identify areas for improvement in current systems
  • Develop systems to ensure data security
  • Analyze, publish and present system information
  • Coordinate and communicate with other teams to reach project milestones and deadlines

Requirements:
  • BS / MS in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years experience in information technology with increasing responsibility in understanding and designing complex and enhancing existing relational database systems.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing all stages of large-scale database projects.
  • Strong understanding of Kimball-style dimensional modeling, including fact and dimension table design, slowly changing dimensions (SCDs), star and snowflake schemas, and best practices for optimizing ETL processes in a data warehouse environment
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities
  • Strong ability to translate complex business needs into scalable data models.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to explain complicated concepts in simple terms
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience with database management software
  • Knowledge of SQL Server, Snowflake and DB2 is a plus!
