Job description

Description
We are looking for a Senior Maintenance Technician for our cannabis cultivation facility. This is a hands-on role where you will both oversee and personally perform maintenance, repairs, and management of all building and cultivation systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. You must be able to personally execute repairs and have significant technical expertise.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00/hour DOE
Required Duties and Essential Job Functions:
  • Personally perform and supervise all routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance and repairs on facility and cultivation systems, including HVAC, electrical (high/low-voltage), plumbing, and irrigation.
  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all cultivation equipment and facility systems.
  • Ensure the facility is consistently compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations (including DCC and OSHA), and oversee facility security and waste disposal.
  • Coordinate with the Cultivation Manager to operate and calibrate specialized environmental control systems and ensure optimal conditions for plant health.
  • Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and parts, track work orders using a management system, and maintain detailed records of all activities and inspections.

Hands-On Experience Requirements:
  • Plumbing: Repairing and maintaining irrigation systems, pumps, and PVC pipes.
  • Electrical: Working on high- and low-voltage electrical systems and controls.
  • HVAC: Troubleshooting and repairing climate control systems to maintain ideal grow conditions.
  • General: Performing daily inspections and all types of general repairs.

Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, or a related field a plus.
  • Experience in facility management or maintenance supervision, with at least 1 year in a commercial cannabis cultivation or similar regulated agricultural environment.
  • Hands-on technical expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining HVAC, electrical (high and low-voltage), and plumbing systems.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and be on feet for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and move heavier objects with assistance.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work at heights.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods to perform maintenance and inspections.
  • Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions common to a cultivation facility, including high humidity, high temperatures, and exposure to cleaning chemicals and plant pollen.

Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and preventative maintenance principles.
  • Familiarity with California's cannabis regulatory environment and compliance standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and software systems.

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Selected candidate will be required to complete a post offer, pre-employment background check.
  • Must be able to accommodate scheduling expectations including weekend, evening, and holiday shifts and store location assignments.
