Job description

Hello All,
We're in search of a Senior Machine Operator in the Production Department, you will oversee the operation and changeovers of multiple machines, ensuring smooth and efficient production processes. You will be responsible for managing a team, maintaining quality control, and adhering to safety standards while performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting. With a focus on leadership and operational excellence, you will play a key role in meeting production goals and training new personnel.

Senior Machine Operator

Salary: 80k - 100k

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate multiple machines, including handling changeovers and adjustments.
  • Execute independent changeovers on at least four production lines.
  • Supervise and guide team members assigned to the production line.
  • Assist with product bundling and stacking as required.
  • Adhere to the production schedule provided by the Shift Supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate records of production outputs.
  • Support the coil loading process to ensure smooth operations.
  • Train and mentor new staff and helpers as a core part of the role.
  • Notify the Shift Supervisor of any coil shortages.
  • Identify and report machine issues, offering practical solutions where possible.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and assist in machinery repairs.
  • Perform quality checks, ensuring compliance with established tolerance charts.
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper housekeeping of assigned machines daily.
  • Stay vigilant regarding health and safety practices, ensuring compliance with all safety guidelines.
  • Consistently wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Shift Supervisor.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Health and Safety certification.
  • Valid Forklift Operator License.

Required Competencies:

  • Solid knowledge of products and production processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a talent for troubleshooting.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills.
