We are looking for an organized, professional, strategic individual to join as a Business Lending Processor/Closer The Business Lending Processor/Closer will be responsible for managing the process of business loans while providing exceptional service to all applicants and our business partners. Business Lending Processor/Closers analyze loan information to determine if the decision is within the lending guidelines and review loan documentation for accuracy/completeness. They educate and inform necessary parties of counteroffers, loan stipulations, and reasons for the denial.
What does GTE look for in a Business Lending Processor/Closer?
Processor/Closer:
  • Processor/closer shall assist closers and underwriters in gathering documents and coordinating, and closing with all third-party vendors (e.g. appraisal, environmental reports, title company, etc.).
  • Processor/closer shall handle, ordering due diligence for approved loans.
  • Ensuring loans are imaged after closing.
  • Process rate reductions, re-price changes, extensions, and modifications for existing commercial real estate loans.
  • Process release of mortgages, assignment of rents and leases, UCCs, and vehicle liens for paid commercial loans.
  • Audit booked loans in OSI to ensure that billing is correct.
  • Manage ongoing loan monitoring and tracking of UCC filings, insurance, mortgage recordings, title liens, possessory collateral, and financial information for each active loan, per loan and policy guidelines.
  • Assist with auditing depository account documents, as received, for new account openings, support Member Care and Community Financial Centers on business services and products.

Skills:
  • Promote and professionally represent the credit union philosophy within the organization and in the local communities.
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills to effectively communicate with management, co-workers, and business partners.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.

Operations:
  • Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to the U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
  • Qualify for NMLS registration according to the Safe Act.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience or a combination of education and experience
  • Familiarity with banking and credit union regulations is strongly desired.

Position Details:
  • Location: Downtown Tampa - GTE Headquarters
  • Department Hours: Monday- Friday (8:00 am to 5:00 pm)

Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.
The position is defined as hybrid in nature, (in-office, or remote) and may be changed at any time by management with appropriate notice, if possible.
Required for Remote/Hybrid Work:
  • A quiet workplace so you can focus on delivering excellent service to our members.
  • Some positions will require performance standards to be met to qualify for alternative work arrangements.
  • Required to have power and high-speed internet over 100MB (minimum).
  • Video capability (connection of 1.5 Mbps up and down recommended).
  • Candidates must provide and meet all technical requirements prior to the first day of training.
  • Hybrid candidates must live within driving distance of the office location and be able to regularly commute to and from the office location as needed.
