Senior Linux Engineer
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (On-site)
Duration: 12 months
Payrate: $60 - 65/hr on W2
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Linux Engineer to join our team. The engineer will be responsible for building a platform to support the full stack, including application integration, performance management, security implementation, configuration management, and problem management across an array of services at both a platform and host level.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement Ansible playbooks and roles to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployments.
  • Perform extensive troubleshooting and technical support for both hardware and software issues.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Load Balancers (F5/AVI/vmWare).
  • Create and manage VMs using VMWare.
  • Engage in enterprise cluster environment builds and operations, including design, capacity planning, security, performance tuning, and monitoring.
  • Work on large, complex projects with cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience with multiple largescale enterprise cluster environment builds and operations.
  • Experience with three-tier architectural web applications.
  • In-depth working knowledge of RedHat Linux systems.
  • Proficiency with networking, firewall, kernel parameter tuning, and security concepts.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of TLS certificates, different certificate container formats, and the entire certificate chain.
  • Experience with VMWare concepts for creating and managing VMs.
  • Must have experience working on large, complex projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of Agile software development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
  • Enterprise Database Administration experience with MySQL, Oracle, Maria DB, or Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with Hadoop distributions in the Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google).
  • Experience with Apache Tomcat.
  • Experience with Terraform.
