What is a senior link builder?

Senior Link Builders are experienced professionals who specialize in acquiring high-quality backlinks to improve a website's search engine ranking and authority. They develop and execute advanced link-building strategies, manage outreach campaigns, and analyze backlink profiles to ensure compliance with search engine guidelines. Senior Link Builders also mentor junior team members, stay updated with SEO trends, and collaborate with content creators to maximize link-building opportunities. Their expertise helps drive organic traffic and enhances a website's visibility online.

What are some typical challenges a senior link builder faces when developing outreach strategies?

Senior Link Builders often encounter challenges such as identifying high-authority and relevant websites, personalizing outreach to stand out from generic pitches, and maintaining ethical link-building practices that align with search engine guidelines. Another common hurdle is adapting strategies to frequent changes in search algorithms and avoiding penalties for unnatural linking patterns. Successful Senior Link Builders continuously research new prospecting techniques and foster strong relationships with webmasters and industry influencers to ensure sustainable, high-quality backlink acquisition.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a senior link builder, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Senior Link Builder, you need expertise in SEO strategies, digital marketing, and a proven track record of successful link acquisition, often supported by experience or certifications in SEO. Proficiency with SEO tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, and outreach platforms is typically required. Strong communication, relationship-building, and analytical skills set top performers apart in this role. These skills ensure the development of high-quality backlinks that drive organic growth and improve a website's search engine rankings.

Job description

Company Overview

At Motorola Solutions, we believe that everything starts with our people. We’re a global close-knit community, united by the relentless pursuit to help keep people safer everywhere. We build and connect technologies to help protect people, property and places. Our solutions foster the collaboration that’s critical for safer communities, safer schools, safer hospitals, safer businesses, and ultimately, safer nations. Connect with a career that matters, and help us build a safer future.

Department Overview

Link is our cloud-based interoperability network, designed to solve the "Information Gap" during coordinated events across authorized participants by allowing public safety agencies to securely share data, coordinate resources, and connect workflows across jurisdictions and systems.

Job Description

As the Senior Product Manager for Link, you will spearhead the evolution and market scaling of Link—our cutting-edge, cloud-based interoperability network. From driving our core "Anchor & Expand" network-effect strategy to managing an advanced, multi-tier product portfolio (Reader, Contributor, and Exchange), you will play a high-impact, hands‑on role. Your vision will bridge the "Information Gap" during multi‑agency incidents, ensuring public safety professionals have the exact insights they need to execute faster, smarter responses and protect their communities.

What You’ll Do

Own the Portfolio: Guide the end‑to‑end strategy, feature requirements, and ongoing deployment of Link’s core tiers—from view‑only regional awareness (Reader) and policy‑driven data sharing (Contributor) to full bi‑directional CAD‑to‑CAD automated orchestration (Exchange). Drive Network Scaling & Strategy: Capitalize on our market‑launch momentum. Seamlessly leverage the Motorola Solutions install base to seed the network via native CAD subscriptions while simultaneously creating the compelling value logic that draws in non‑MSI agencies. Govern Data & Automation Rules: Enhance Link’s granular, policy‑driven governance architecture. Manage how agencies leverage the automation engine to map local terminologies, build share policies, and trigger real‑time cross‑platform alerting (such as Rave Alerting integration). Champion CAD‑Agnostic Interoperability: Collaborate with technical teams to expand Link's open‑ecosystem posture. Ensure frictionless data ingestion across native pipelines (PremierOne, Flex, CC CAD) and third‑party systems utilizing NENA/APCO EIDO standards, custom APIs, and secure websocket conveyance. Drive Commercial Success: Craft packaging, pricing, and adoption strategies that accelerate ARR and deepen customer engagement across public‑safety agencies of all sizes. Champion the Customer: Spend time in the field with telecommunicators and supervisors to ground every decision in real‑world workflows, embedding privacy and responsible AI throughout. Measure & Iterate: Establish metrics that matter, use data to prioritize, and continuously refine the roadmap for maximum impact.

What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years in product management
  • Product Management Experience: Proven track record managing data‑rich, mission‑critical domains (video, IoT, drones, real‑time analytics); you can translate complex workflows into elegant product decisions.
  • Experience in public safety, defense, or other regulated, high‑trust environments.
  • Interoperability & Integration Savvy: Familiarity with data pipelines, interface protocols, APIs, or standards‑based data exchange frameworks (e.g., EIDO/i3 standards).
  • Strategic Growth Mindset: Understanding of commercial scaling models, network effects, tiered software packaging (ARR/subscription metrics), and value‑based pricing structures.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to orchestrate cross‑functional teams, interface with high‑level external stakeholders (such as State 911 Directors), and navigate technical and legal delivery requirements. You should be equally at home with engineers, designers, sales, and end‑users.
Travel Requirements

Under 10% travel.
