Position: Senior Sitework Designer
Location: 62 Lake Mirror Road, Forest Park GA 30297
Travel: Up to 25%

Duration: 2 Years

Position Overview

The Sitework Designer Sr I is responsible for developing detailed sitework designs, including grading and drainage systems, for heavy industrial and power-related facilities. This senior-level role requires strong 3D modeling expertise, coordination across disciplines, and the ability to support field verification and constructability reviews.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in industrial environments and a strong understanding of environmental regulations applicable to site development projects.


Key Responsibilities

Design & Modeling

  • Produce 3D models and detailed design drawings for site grading and drainage
  • Prepare conceptual layouts and preliminary site development plans
  • Develop construction-ready drawings with clear, concise notes

Estimating & Documentation

  • Prepare material takeoffs
  • Assist with cost estimates
  • Review and validate vendor drawings for compliance and constructability

Coordination & Field Support

  • Coordinate work with other engineering disciplines, clients, and contractors
  • Perform site walk-downs for field verification
  • Identify constructability concerns and recommend practical solutions

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure designs align with applicable environmental regulations including:
    • Georgia EPD (GA-EPD)
    • Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM)
    • Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ)
    • Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)
  • Support adherence to site development and permitting requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related sitework design experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Extensive 3D modeling experience strongly preferred
  • Strong technical writing skills with ability to produce clear drawing notes
  • Experience in heavy industrial, power generation, papermill, or petrochemical environments
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within project teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with plant staff, engineers, and vendors
