Be our next Senior Plumbing Designer/Engineer
Your work environment at EXP
In this role, you will join the MEP Plumbing Team in Maitland or Coral Gables, Florida; or Milwaukee, Wisconsin and have the opportunity to design plumbing systems for a variety of projects, including gaming, hospitality, entertainment, healthcare, and commercial projects.
The candidate will be a lead designer/engineer that is able to completely design projects, attend project meetings, perform existing condition site surveys, and direct other designers. This role is ideal for a senior level candidate that wants to take a lead role in delivering projects to clients.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers, engineers and designers level staff on all of their responsibilities.
  • Review code related items with engineers to ensure compliance.
  • Perform at a responsible charge level of meeting EXP design and quality levels.
  • Ability to QC all work of plumbing engineering staff.
  • Apply risk management procedures daily to minimize EXP & client's exposure to problems.
  • Creates the narratives (basis of design) for the SD work.
  • Perform front-end loading of plumbing systems.
  • Develop and monitor plumbing work plans in conjunction with PM.
  • Write new specification sections; develop new details, as required for project needs.
  • Manages work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.
  • Writes studies and reports for plumbing systems when needed on projects.
  • Understand and apply engineering principles and fundamentals.
  • Perform life cycle cost analyses, and energy/cost calculations for plumbing systems.
  • Ability to develop alternative 'Engineered' plumbing systems that meet code.

What your experience looks like
  • Proficient with plumbing engineering and design, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Experience in the healthcare, hospitality, gaming, and/or entertainment market sectors working on hotels, resorts, casinos, water parks, theme parks, attraction, and other projects requiring attention to detail impacting guest experience is strongly desirable;
  • Must have strong communication skills, be able to direct other individuals in the design of plumbing systems;
  • Proficient in both AutoCAD and Revit;
  • BS Architectural Engineering, BS Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree; preferred but not necessary
  • PE is a plus.
