The Opportunity:
We have an immediate opening for a regular full-time Senior Landscape Architect / Urban Designer to work a hybrid remote schedule based out of our downtown Tempe office, in coordination with our Fort Collins office. This role offers a unique opportunity for a candidate to provide design leadership in partnership with our senior landscape architects and planning teams, while also playing a strategic role in business development, marketing, and staff growth.
We are seeking a senior-level landscape architect with strong design, leadership, and project management skills to deliver innovative solutions for vibrant, resilient, and sustainable communities. The ideal candidate will bring creative vision, technical expertise, and the ability to direct teams, mentor staff, manage projects, cultivate clients, and expand our practice in both Arizona and Colorado. This role emphasizes leadership in integrating landscape architecture, urban design, transportation, master planning, development/redevelopment, public realm development, and parks and recreation systems planning.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide senior expertise and leadership to our Design teams across multiple offices, collaborating closely with Community Planning, Environmental, Cultural Resources, Historic Preservation, and Housing teams.
  • Help lead project design direction and integrate urban design with landscape architecture, transportation, planning, and public realm initiatives.
  • Play an active role in business development and marketing, including proposals, interviews, and client presentations, while strengthening client relationships.
  • Mentor and support professional and technical staff, fostering collaboration, skill development, and career growth.
  • Manage team workflows, schedules, and resources to meet project requirements.
  • Consistently embody the firm's vision, mission, and core values in your work and interactions.

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • 12+ years of relevant consulting, agency, or municipal experience, including project management and client management.
  • Licensure or certification (PLA, AICP, CNU, LEED or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in directing teams, mentoring staff, and supporting professional growth.
  • Proven business development and marketing skills with the ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships.
  • Strong design portfolio demonstrating creativity and integration of urban design, planning, and landscape architecture.
  • Excellent project management skills, including scope, schedule, and budget oversight.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to work across disciplines and with clients.
  • Ability to work in the office an average of 3 days per week.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in a multidisciplinary consulting environment.
