Title: Supply Chain Manager
Reports To: Director of Supply Chain
Department: Supply Chain
Supervises: Purchasing and Planning
Organizational Relationships:
Direct communication with all members of Customer Service, Technical Department Managers, Engineering, Sales/Marketing, Packaging Operations, Compounding Operations and Business Development.
Basic Function:
Supervision of the production scheduling and planning activities. Develop plans to meet customer requirements in an efficient, cost-effective manner while at the same time maintaining inventory of raw materials, components, bulk and WIP at levels that maximize inventory turns. Drives the S&OP process for the facility. Maintain the working capital for the facility at an optimal level.
Responsible for the motivation and development of the Teams. Optimize performance and professional growth through training and education.
Responsibilities:
  1. Direct supervision with respect to production scheduling and planning activities.
  2. Responsible and oversee the preparation of the monthly forecast with involvement of the purchasing team, customer relations and operations.
  3. Recommends and maintains conformance to budgetary limitations under areas of responsibility.
  4. Is responsible for the accurate reporting of all departmental information.
  5. Recommends sets and meets objectives for their area of responsibility, via goal setting and/or performance reporting if applicable.
  6. Initiates and/or provides timelines supporting business / customer OTIF.
  7. Oversees the adherence to all Kolmar policies, procedures, G.M.P., environmental and safety practices to promote a clean, safe, and productive work environment.
  8. Involved in new project opportunities with Sales and Business Development to determine whether current capacity is sufficient to meet customer requirements.
  9. Monitors work center capacity constraints and trends to identify potential service issues and/or capital equipment requirements.
  10. Build tank and assembly capacity plans - identifiers, risks, and opportunities.
  11. Ensure support for site production schedules, including contingency plans, oversee daily processes in moving the material flow in support of an optimized cycle time metric and presents to senior management. Interface with both internal and external customers.
  12. Ensures the facility is maintain the correct level of Working Capital to meet demand
  13. Ensures engaged Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) discussions to ensure all sales orders can be produced to meet the customers promised dates.

Responsibilities (continued):
  1. Track and reconcile any out of line conditions associated with customer liabilities for bulk material.
  2. Any other duties as assigned by Director of Supply Chain.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum High School education with a four-year in business or accounting preferred
  • Minimum of four years' experience in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • Eight years' experience working in progressive positions in an operations department environment.
  • Minimum of three years supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of plant GMP, environmental, safety and QC procedures.
  • APICS certified and/or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing plant operations procedures.
  • Self-starter working under minimal supervision.
  • Strong mathematical and organization/administration skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (communication and motivation).
  • Computer literacy.
  • Display literacy in mathematics and English.
