Job Scope
The Buyer/Planner manages internal production and external supply planning, including purchasing, MRP, supplier coordination, and product lifecycle support. This role emphasizes data-driven decision making, problem solving, and continuous improvement to optimize service, inventory, and plan stability.
Responsible for executing planning and purchasing activities, the Buyer/Planner analyzes supply chain performance, identifies root causes of imbalances, and drives improvements. They maintain accurate planning inputs in SAP, align supply plans to demand priorities from S&OE and IBP processes, and ensure the effectiveness of MRP outputs.
This role partners cross-functionally to align demand, supply, and operations, with accountability for service, inventory, cost, and plan stability KPIs across assigned product families. Success is defined by improving planning outcomes through accurate data, proactive problem solving, and strong analytical capability.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve material master planning inputs aligned with demand and service goals.
  • Review MRP outputs; execute purchase and production orders to support demand and plan stability.
  • Participate in S&OE and IBP processes, identifying risks and driving cross-functional actions.
  • Manage supplier performance (delivery, lead time, cost) and build strong vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, and Demand Planning.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs (service, inventory health, plan adherence).
  • Analyze supply, demand, and inventory data to identify trends, risks, and E&O exposure.
  • Investigate shortages and disruptions; implement corrective actions.
  • Drive data-based improvements in service, inventory, and efficiency.
  • Support reporting and dashboards (Excel, Power BI) to enhance visibility.
  • Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) to identify supply chain risks.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-7+ years in supply chain, planning, or purchasing roles.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems; SAP preferred; IBP or similar tools a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, including advanced Excel; Power BI experience preferred.
  • Effective communication and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ownership mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, communication).
