The Role
The Corporate Controller will oversee all aspects of the organization's accounting processes to guarantee accurate financial reporting and strict internal adherence to policies. Reporting directly to the Chief Accounting Officer, this pivotal role balances core technical accounting-including managing payroll for 60 employees, complex intercompany billings across multiple industries, and local tax compliance-with higher-level internal audit management and corporate asset oversight.
Key Responsibilities

  • Process Oversight: Review and manage all aspects of the organization's accounting processes to identify areas of improvement and implement strategic recommendations.
  • Auditing & Compliance: Lead the internal audit program and coordinate directly with external auditors to ensure continuous compliance with overall organizational policies and procedures.
  • Internal Controls: Maintain, test, and enhance internal control systems to guarantee the long-term accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
  • Asset Management: Oversee and manage the company-wide fixed asset inventory across our management, dealership, real estate, and advertising holdings.
  • Payroll Administration: Calculate and process full-cycle payroll for 60 employees, accurately incorporating complex commission structures.
  • Tax & Intercompany Transactions: Prepare and submit monthly use tax returns, and handle the distribution of monthly billings and cost allocations to related automotive, real estate, and advertising companies.
  • Executive Analysis: Analyze complex financial data and prepare actionable reports for senior management decision-making.

What You'll Bring (Requirements)
  • Experience: 5-7 years of progressive, hands-on accounting and financial management experience.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience Context: Proven background managing multi-entity/intercompany billings and full-cycle corporate payroll processes. Experience spanning automotive retail, real estate, or advertising industries is a plus.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of GAAP standards, fixed asset tracking systems, use tax regulations, and internal audit methodologies.
  • Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel (for commission calculation and data analysis) and mid-to-enterprise level ERP or Dealer Management Systems (DMS).
  • Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, a process-improvement mindset, and strong cross-functional communication abilities.

What We Offer
  • Competitive Compensation: $95,000 - $108,000 base salary, DOE
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical coverage through our self-funded healthcare program, which features full access to our convenient on-site employee health clinic for enrolled members, plus available dental and vision plans.
  • Paid Time Off: 2.67 hours accrued per paycheck for year one, with planned increases based on tenure.
  • Community Impact: 8 hours of paid volunteer time off (VTO) per year to give back to causes you care about.
  • Retirement: 401(k) with company match
  • Environment: Fully on-site at our Colorado Springs corporate office.
