THE ROLE

The Controller will report directly to the CFO and will lead the accounting and financial reporting function for TPI-Holloway Metals Recovery and assigned affiliated entities.

The successful candidate will own the monthly close, financial reporting, manufacturing and cost accounting, inventory, fixed assets, audit coordination, internal controls, and related-party accounting. The position will work closely with operations, sales, executive management, external auditors, and lenders.

Depending on the successful candidate’s experience, the position may be filled at the Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting Manager level.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Lead the day-to-day accounting function for TPI-Holloway Metals Recovery and assigned affiliated entities
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, consolidating schedules, management review, and issuance of timely financial statements
  • Establish and maintain manufacturing and cost accounting processes, including inventory valuation, standard costs, production yields, overhead allocation, and variance analysis
  • Oversee inventory controls and reconciliations for raw materials, work in process, finished goods, recovered commodities, consumables, and other operating inventories
  • Oversee construction in progress and fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, asset tracking, and coordination with engineering and operations
  • Prepare financial statements and management reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies
  • Develop and maintain effective internal controls, accounting policies, close checklists, approval processes, and supporting documentation
  • Manage intercompany, related-party, and joint-venture accounting and ensure timely reconciliation of balances and transactions
  • Maintain debt, interest, lease, and other significant accounting schedules
  • Lead the annual external audit and coordinate audit support, technical accounting analyses, confirmations, and responses to auditor inquiries
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash-flow projections, operating analyses, and performance reporting in partnership with the CFO and operational leadership
  • Partner with plant management, engineering, procurement, and operations to improve financial visibility, cost control, data integrity, and operating performance
  • Support the implementation and continued development of NetSuite and related operational and reporting systems
  • Recruit, supervise, develop, and review accounting personnel as the business and accounting function grow
  • Identify control gaps and process inefficiencies and implement practical, scalable improvements
  • Perform additional accounting, finance, and strategic projects as assigned by the CFO

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; candidates with another relevant degree may be considered with substantial directly relevant accounting experience
  • At least five years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for a complete monthly close and preparation or review of financial statements
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, account reconciliations, internal controls, and financial reporting
  • Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following: manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, or inventory accounting
  • Experience coordinating an external financial statement audit.
  • Experience supervising, reviewing, or developing accounting personnel
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience with an ERP system; NetSuite experience is preferred
  • Ability to work directly with operational personnel and explain accounting and financial matters to non-accountants
  • Ability to independently prioritize deadlines, investigate discrepancies, and drive matters to resolution

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA or CMA certification
  • Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or Audit Manager with clients from a relevant industry
  • Experience with standard costing, inventory valuation, fixed assets, leases, debt, joint ventures, or multi-entity accounting
  • Experience implementing or materially improving an ERP, close process, or internal-control environment
