Waving Manager

Monday- Thursday

9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

A Waving Manager is responsible for managing the wave planning and execution process, which is crucial in ensuring that customer orders are released, picked, packed, and shipped in a timely and efficient manner.

Role of a Waving Supervisor

Wave Planning

  • Analyze order volumes and shipping deadlines
  • Coordinate with warehouse management systems (WMS) to create effective waves
  • Prioritize high-urgency or time-sensitive orders

Execution Oversight

  • Monitor real-time progress of picking waves
  • Adjust wave release timing to avoid bottlenecks in picking or packing areas
  • Ensure labor is properly allocated across waves

Communication & Coordination

  • Work closely with:
    • Inventory control
    • Picking and packing supervisors
    • Out bound teams
    • Ensure smooth transitions from one operational step to another

System Management

  • Use WMS or ERP systems to:
    • Trigger waves
    • Track wave status
    • Troubleshoot system or order issues

Performance Monitoring

  • Track metrics like:
    • Wave completion times
    • Order accuracy
