THE POSITION: Sr. Buyer
We are looking for a talented, energetic, metric driven, qualified professional to join our team in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for the procurement of a wide variety of commodities, materials, supplies, equipment, and services, many of which require the application of complex procurement standards and procedures. The Senior Buyer position is responsible for the timely planning, scheduling of receipt, and inventory control of the products and services consistent with material planning and inventory control requirements. The Senior Buyer has a high level of procurement experience and is responsible for high dollar volumes, complex products, and supplier relationships. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong analytical mindset, exceptional negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of supply chain management principles. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to drive cost savings, enhance supplier relationships, and contribute to the overall success of our organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Strategically source materials, commodities, supplies, equipment, and services to support manufacturing operations, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. Including confirmation of supplier receipt and acceptance of purchase orders.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and conditions, maximizing value for the organization.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, fostering collaboration and resolving any issues or disputes that may arise.
  • Implement procurement strategies and policies to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Adhere to the Company's guidelines related to Safety, Occupational Health, Quality, and Legal, while ensuring compliance with local government laws & regulations.
  • Maintain accuracy of purchase order data and material master data.
  • Evaluate, manage, and communicate vendor performance of key deliverables such as lead time, delivery quality, service, cost, and compliance.
  • Process returns requests from vendors in a timely manner.
  • Manage inventory levels and monitor stock levels to ensure adequate supply while minimizing excess inventory and obsolescence.
  • Analyze procurement data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for optimization costs, improve material flow and reduce supply chain risks.
  • Ability to work independently and self-manage assignments and projects.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by management.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, supply chain, statistics, industrial engineer, operations, or another relevant field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and cost savings initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Computer literacy with a strong proficiency in computer-based analytical and communication tools (Excel & Power Point).
  • Experience working with domestic and overseas suppliers - understanding of import processes and regulations.
  • Team player with strong work ethic and people skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple vendors & priorities with minimal supervision under challenging conditions.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with solid time-management skills and strong decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be flexible, adaptable, resourceful and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
