Assistant Director of Culinary Services

The Assistant Director of Culinary services provides operational support to the Director of Culinary Services.  They will supervise wait staff in the day-to-day operations of the Dining Rooms, maintain a high quality, positive, safe physical, and social environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure warm, professional interactions with residents and guests.
  • Monitor resident satisfaction and address food service concerns.
  • Oversee cleanliness, safety, and sanitation in dining areas.
  • Supervise food presentation, portion control, and service timing.
  • Manage staff schedules, hiring, training, performance, and coverage.
  • Coordinate catering, banquets, and special events.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments and attend regular meetings.
  • Manage inventory and monthly ordering of culinary supplies.

Supervisory Duties:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of dining experience; 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily indoor environment with exposure to kitchen chemicals.
