Job Description
This newly created role will be supporting the Site Financial Controller for all aspects of operations finance. The Senior Operations Finance Analyst is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through cost accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting. This role partners with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to ensure accurate product costing, support monthly close activities, analyze margins and manufacturing variances, and develop KPIs that drive business performance. The position will also lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting cycles for assigned manufacturing locations, providing insights into financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to capably perform each of the following essential duties:
  • Business Impact: Supports manufacturing performance through cost accounting, monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, margin analysis, and KPI reporting. Contributes to daily operations, monthly reporting cycles, and annual planning processes.
  • Innovation & Change: Applies independent judgment to analyze financial results, identify trends, and recommend solutions. Continuously seeks opportunities to improve reporting, processes, and business performance.
  • Type of Work: Performs a blend of tactical and strategic responsibilities, including financial reporting, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and business decision support.
  • Key Stakeholders: Partners with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Plant Leadership, and Finance teams across multiple manufacturing locations. Interacts with auditors and other business partners as needed.
  • Communications: Prepares and presents financial reports, KPI dashboards, forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses. Communicates financial results and recommendations to business leaders.
  • People Management: N/A
  • Process Oversight: Supports cost accounting, inventory management, monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Maintains strong knowledge of cost accounting, manufacturing finance, inventory accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifies and implements opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting efficiency, data accuracy, and operational performance.
  • Data & Metrics: Analyzes and reports on key financial and operational metrics, including gross margin, manufacturing variances, inventory turns, labor efficiency/utilization, forecast accuracy, and budget performance.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance, or equivalent experience
  • More than 6 years of experience in Cost Accounting and FP&A roles
  • Solid grasp of cost accounting principles
  • ERP experience required
  • Technology/Equipment Knowledge (e.g., Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel) with advanced Excel skills
  • Prior experience with Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent software

Preferred Qualifications:
  • SAP experience
  • Accounting designation (CPA, CMA), or an equivalent related experience a plus
  • Business Objects experience
  • FP&A software platform experience (Adaptive preferred)

Additional Information
The customary salary range for this position is:
  • Minimum: $93,400 USD annually
  • Maximum: $140,000 USD annually

The salary range provided covers the minimum and maximum amounts projected for this role. The base salary will be influenced by factors like experience, skills, and location.
