Job description

Coordinate procurement of material and production components needed for fabrication of sales requirements. Place purchase orders and/or raise works orders to maintain optimal stocking levels for all manufactured and purchased goods in line with changing customer demands. This will include raw material planning, along with subcontract operations planning and inbound transportation management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Order and maintain parts inventory to keep on hand the necessary equipment to maintain and repair the plant on a 24-hour basis. This is accomplished in part by reviewing demand and setting safety stocks based on historical data.
  • Build relationships with various suppliers.
  • Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts for designated materials and services. Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine the need for changes.
  • Track contracts related to repair and construction work.
  • Work with Accounting to ensure purchase orders have been properly coded.
  • Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and resolve problems related to undelivered goods.
  • Pick up shipments from offsite suppliers with a pickup truck.
  • Recommend process improvements for department.

Education:
  • High School Diploma, or GED, preferred.
