Job Description:

The Senior International Captain commands Gulfstream G600 international flights under FAA Part 91 from the Houston base. This role requires an experienced, safety-focused leader to manage international flight planning, operational decision-making, regulatory compliance, and crew mentorship while delivering premium executive air transportation services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as PilotinCommand (PIC) of the Gulfstream G600 on international missions, exercising operational control consistent with company policy and FARs applicable to Part 91.
  • Lead flight planning for longrange and oceanic operations, including fuel/payload/performance calculations, weather analysis, and overflight/landing permit coordination.
  • Coordinate dispatch, crew scheduling, ground handling, and inflight operational decisions to ensure safe, efficient missions.
  • Conduct and document preflight and postflight inspections and ensure aircraft airworthiness in coordination with Maintenance and the Chief of Maintenance.
  • Maintain and demonstrate currency through recurrent simulator training, proficiency checks, and company-required checks for the G600.
  • Mentor and train crew members in Crew Resource Management (CRM), Safety Management Systems (SMS), emergency procedures, and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Interface professionally with executives, clients, international authorities, handlers, and vendors.
  • Participate in safety programs, risk assessments, and continuous operational improvements.
  • Support recruiting/onboarding and provide subject-matter input on vendor selection and operational strategy when requested.

Minimum Requirements

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
  • FAA First Class Medical Certificate (current).
  • Valid passport and ability to obtain necessary international visas/permits.
  • Minimum total flight time: 6,000+ hours (minimum)
  • Minimum multiengine jet time: 4,000 hours
  • PIC experience in international operations and longrange multicrew aircraft.
  • Thorough familiarity with FARs applicable to Part 91 operations and ICAO standards for international flights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Business large cabin, long range, international GVII/600/500, GVI/650, or similar Gulfstream type command experience.
  • Instructor/evaluator credentials (check airman, TR/FE experience).
  • Additional certifications such as A&P or advanced safety SMS training.
  • Multilingual skills relevant to destination regions.
  • Experience supporting VIP/client-focused executive flight operations.

Training, Currency & Company Policy Notes

  • Pre-employment background checks, verification of employment history, drug/alcohol screening, and reference checks consistent with company policy.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of safety management systems (SMS), human factors, risk mitigation, and CRM.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs), flight planning software, FMS operations, and modern avionics systems in a multicrew environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, decisionmaking, and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to operate in highpressure environments and adapt to varied international operations/logistics.

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Based in Houston, TX. Extensive international travel with variable hours, overnight stays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to handle extended duty periods consistent with company policies on fatigue management.
  • Must be able to perform pre/post flight inspections that may require moderate physical activity and mobility.
