Description of Position: The incumbent serves as a Program Manager for the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (Strategic or Advanced Capabilities Delta’s) at Kirtland AFB, NM. The mission of the Space RCO is deliver timely and operationally relevant space superiority and resilience capabilities to the warfighter. The incumbent manages military, civilian and contractor personnel who plan acquisition strategies, award contracts, manage cost, schedule, performance, and deliver capabilities. Position Responsibilities: • Responsible for cost, schedule, and performance for critical mission systems bound for U.S. Space Force fielding abroad. • Manages and directs internal and external resources to support program execution across key areas, including contracting, engineering, program control, testing, and logistics. • Leads a team of highly talented, hand-picked acquisition professionals (military, civilian, support contractor) • Represents the organization at executive levels within the Executive Branch, presents programmatic and budget information to Congressional staffers and members, and works with senior contractor/industry representatives • Interfaces with organizations throughout the space and military community to leverage shared development, funding, and resources Desired Skills/Expertise: Minimum of ten (10) years previous experience as an acquisition program manager and five (5) additional on an acquisition program; previous experience as a General Engineer may supplement the acquisition program manager experience. • DAWIA Program Manager Advanced (able to obtain within the designated grace period) • Strong background in space acquisition highly desired • Ability to independently make decisions in line with the PEO and Senior Program Director strategic intent • Ability to utilize strategic context to prioritize needs across a broader family of systems • Ability to lead through uncertainty and unknowns • Ability to see big picture from concept to development to operations, yet get into details of program-level when necessary • Ability to make system-wide connections among elements of a system -- technically, organizationally, and personally • Strong communicator - oral and written skills, past briefing skills to senior leadership desired • Minimum 4 years SPO experience preferred Conditions of Employment:
