How you will create an impact
Do you have experience with Bodily Injury and Property Damage claims and are looking for something new? Are you interested in a Casualty claims position with higher exposure and a foreign twist? We need Claims Adjusters to handle wrongful death auto claims in Europe, premises liability claims in Asia, oil fields losses in Latin America, and large product claims in the United States for our insured's in Asia Pac.
As a Complex Claims Director in the International Casualty Home Office you will be handling claims for bodily injury and property damage under Commercial General Liability policies. The adjuster will handle USA based claims for non-USA Insureds and foreign claims under Controlled Master Programs issued to large Multinational US insureds. These claims are often venued outside the United States and the adjuster will need to work with the AIG office or Network Partner in the claim location. The severity of these claims range from auto accidents with moderate injuries to Multi-District Litigation with hundreds of plaintiffs, wrongful death or paralysis claims, burn injuries, or property damage claims in the millions of dollars.
  • Direct litigation and attend mediations or trials at manager's discretion.
  • Assess liability and damages.
  • Timely and accurately set reserves.
  • Present the large value cases to senior management.
  • Conduct Claim Reviews of foreign claims and will be required to present these claims in understandable terms for USA-based Risk Managers.

What you will need to succeed
  • Proven Complex/GL claims handling experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills in communicating with insureds, brokers, attorneys, and claimants.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to travel to mediations and/or trials.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Some travel is required for attendance at trials and mediations as well as account meetings and claim reviews.
  • Foreign language skills would be highly valued.

For positions based in NJ, the base salary range for this position is $73,900 - $103,500 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. For positions based in New York the base salary range for this position is $77,200 - $108,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. Your actual compensation will be dependent on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
