Job Description
This position will support the Quality Assurance Department's objective to build quality into equipment design and manufacturing processes to ensure that our products meet specified standards of quality, reliability, and performance. The Quality Engineer III will be responsible for qualifying and maintaining purchased part quality across all commodities. This person will work with suppliers, Commodity/Sourcing managers, and other internal stakeholders to address current trending and potential high risk purchased part quality issues. The Quality Engineer III will report to the Senior Manager of Quality Assurance.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data in order to identify and communicate top quality issues
  • Rapidly address purchased part quality issues that are impacting daily manufacturing operations
  • Lead corrective actions to address supplier quality issues collaborating with Sourcing and Engineering
  • Own the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) to ensure that suppliers can meet drawing requirements and maintain quality standards through the appropriate manufacturing controls
  • Work with Quality Assurance to develop incoming inspection requirements to identify non-conforming purchased components before they impact the production floor
  • Publish weekly/monthly supplier quality metric reports (DPPM, SCAR status, etc.) and share with Commodity/Sourcing managers
  • Comply with requirements outlined in the Alto-Shaam Quality Management System
  • Serve as a Lead Internal Auditor to support Alto-Shaam's ISO 9001 certification
  • Other project work as assigned
