Job description

Overview
The Java Developer I will assist in developing Java-based applications and data integration solutions while gaining hands-on experience in a high-volume, low-latency environment. This role will collaborate with senior team members and participate in all stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC) to build scalable and reliable systems.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Java-based applications and TIBCO integrations in a high-volume, low-latency environment.
  • Troubleshoot real-time system issues and provide timely support.
  • Participate in all stages of the SDLC, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Implement unit tests and automated tests to ensure code quality.
  • Apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and standard design patterns.
  • Work with web services, REST APIs, and technologies like XML, JSON, and HTML.
  • Use version control tools (e.g., Git) and build tools (e.g., Ant, Maven, Gradle).
  • Collaborate with teams to gather requirements and define business processes.
  • Adhere to Agile methodologies and participate in team activities (e.g., sprints).
  • Support software releases and contribute to continuous improvement processes.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related
  • 0-2 years of hands-on experience in Java development
  • As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C), Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.
  • Knowledge of Java programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
  • Familiarity with TIBCO systems or a strong willingness to learn.

  • Experience with code versioning tools such as Git (academic or project work counts).
  • Basic understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g., sprints, daily stand-ups).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure (willingness to learn if no prior experience).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and follow guidance from senior developers.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow with new technologies, tools, and best practices.

Pay Transparency Statement
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $65,000.00/Yr. - USD $104,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
