Job description

Senior Electrical Engineer/PE

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be a key member of our Electrical & Instrumentation Department, collaborating with cross-disciplinary engineers, project managers, designers, and administrative staff. You’ll help bring ideas to life by developing electrical designs and drawings for a wide variety of industrial facilities, processing plants and other unique projects. You’ll act as a mentor for junior engineers and review drawings for accuracy and feasibility. This position has the opportunity to grow into a leadership role within AMG.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Designing electrical systems including power distribution, control systems, and lighting for industrial environments

  • Developing single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, cable schedules, and layout drawings

  • Collaborating with other disciplines to ensure project success

  • Participating in field work as needed, including site visits and field verifications on occasion 

What we're looking for:
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering 

  • Professional Engineering license is highly preferred.

  • Solid understanding of power distribution systems, MCCs, cable sizing, power correction, variable frequency drives, transformers, switchgear, and lighting design

  • Familiarity with single-line diagrams and P&IDs

  • At least 5 years of electrical design experience, ideally in industrial processing environments

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT 

  • Working knowledge of Navisworks preferred

  • Experience using ETAP, SKM or EasyPower preferred
