Job description

Title: Insights Analyst / Senior Insights Analyst

Location: 2 days in office, Norwalk CT

Compensation: $80,000โ€“$110,000 base

Contact: Lindsey Bartlett | lbartlett@smithhanley.com

A boutique market research and consulting firm is looking to add two researchers to its growing team. These roles are ideal for early-career market researchers who want broad exposure, meaningful client interaction, and the opportunity to develop across both qualitative and quantitative research.

The firm works primarily with pharma / life sciences clients, with a growing portfolio of sustainability and environmental work. Unlike larger organizations where researchers can get siloed into one piece of the process, youโ€™ll have exposure to projects from initial research design through analysis, reporting, and client delivery.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Support qualitative and quantitative research projects from kickoff through delivery
  • Help develop surveys, discussion guides, and other research materials
  • Coordinate fieldwork, vendors, timelines, and project logistics
  • Analyze data and identify meaningful themes, trends, and insights
  • Build reports and presentations that tell a clear story
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and working sessions
  • Partner closely with senior researchers and consultants
  • Manage multiple studies and priorities at once

What Theyโ€™re Looking For

  • 2โ€“5 years of primary market research experience
  • Agency or research consulting experience strongly preferred
  • Exposure to both qualitative and quantitative methodologies
  • Strong analytical, writing, and storytelling skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Detail-oriented while keeping the bigger business question in mind
  • Curious, collaborative, and eager to continue developing as a researcher
  • Pharma / healthcare experience is a plus, but not required
  • Survey development, analysis, or qualitative moderation experience is a plus

Culture & Environment

  • Collaborative, smart, and ego-free
  • Small-team environment with meaningful senior-level exposure
  • Everyone contributes to client work
  • Fast decision-making with minimal layers
  • Modern, open โ€œthink tankโ€ office environment
  • Real work-life balance with predictable busy periods

Compensation & Benefits

  • $80Kโ€“$110K base + discretionary bonus
  • Competitive benefits including medical, 401(k) match, PTO, and parental leave
  • Annual fully expensed company retreat (+1 included)

This is an in office environment Monday and Wednesday at a minimum, in Norwalk CT.
