The Tax Innovation Senior Consultant manages incoming innovation requests end-to-end - from intake and stakeholder coordination through established risk, legal, and compliance workflows - to efficiently advance high-impact ideas that drive growth, efficiency, and value across the Tax practice. Work you'll do 

The Tax Innovation Senior Consultant role in Tax Transformation Office's Strategic Technology Services team serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and the established processes that bring new innovations to life within Deloitte Tax. In this position, you will engage with practitioners and leaders across the Tax practice to evaluate incoming innovation requests, shepherd them through the organization's review and approval workflows, and ensure that the right stakeholders are engaged at the right time. You will help drive efficiency, growth, and broader practice benefits by enabling new ideas to advance from concept to reality.

  • Serving as the primary intake point for innovation requests - engaging with business stakeholders to understand their ideas and goals, capturing relevant information, and initiating the appropriate review and evaluation processes.
  • Managing innovation requests through established organizational processes - tracking each request across its full lifecycle, coordinating with the relevant review teams (e.g., Risk, Legal, Cyber, Independence, Procurement), and proactively following up to keep reviews moving forward efficiently.
  • Coordinating stakeholder engagement - ensuring that the right leaders and subject matter professionals across Deloitte Tax are consulted, informed, and aligned at each stage of the innovation evaluation process.
  • Maintaining accurate tracking and status dashboards - keeping a current, organized view of all in-flight innovation requests and their status, providing clear and timely updates to senior stakeholders and team leadership.
  • Communicating progress to leaders across Deloitte Tax - preparing and delivering concise status updates, presentations, and briefings that help senior leadership make informed decisions about prioritization and advancement of innovation initiatives.
  • Identifying and resolving process bottlenecks - surfacing friction points in the innovation review lifecycle and contributing to improvements in workflows, documentation standards, and coordination practices.
  • Building and sustaining cross-functional relationships - developing a broad network of contacts across Deloitte Tax Offerings and firm support functions to facilitate smooth navigation of the innovation process.
  • Supporting broader TTO Strategic Technology Services initiatives - contributing to team activities, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement efforts that advance the team's mission.

The Team 

The Strategic Technology Services team is responsible for the enablement of standard technology to support Tax service delivery and developing technology to facilitate these services. TTO focuses on enhancing Deloitte Tax's ability to deliver value-added and efficient Tax services to our clients. The TTO team consists of professionals with varying backgrounds ranging from Tax Professionals, Human Capital and Technology Consultants, and other IT professionals including QA and Support. 

Qualifications 

Required:

  • Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 - 3 days per week
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science or other relevant discipline
  • Requires 3+ years of experience years of experience in project management, innovation management, product development, technology evaluation, or a related professional services environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams, coordinating stakeholder engagement, and tracking initiatives through completion in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven working knowledge of technology platforms, project tracking tools, and workflow/documentation systems. 
  • Successful experience partnering with technical teams to gather requirements, clarify dependencies, and support implementation activities.
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain:
    • Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA

  • Exposure to project management methodologies, Agile delivery, or design thinking frameworks. 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or another relevant certification.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $93,000 to $191,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
