We are a highly technical group and nurture growth, with a technical culture of cross-trained teammates with opportunities to develop additional skillsets. Work Schedule: 8hrs / day, 5 days per week, all onsite. Occasional after hours work for system maintenance. Essential Responsibilities: The Senior Infrastructure Engineer serves as the technical lead for the organization's enterprise infrastructure, responsible for the architecture, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of compute, storage, network, virtualization, and identity management platforms. This position provides strategic and operational leadership for critical infrastructure services across a variety of classified networks, establishes engineering standards, drives modernization initiatives, and ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of systems supporting customer operations. The role requires extensive hands-on technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to lead complex projects and maintenance activities in a secure enterprise environment. Responsibilities include: * Design, implement, administer, and maintain enterprise infrastructure systems including Cisco UCS, Microsoft Active Directory, enterprise storage platforms, Windows Server environments, and core network infrastructure. * Architect, deploy, and support network solutions including routing, switching, segmentation, and secure communications across multiple classified environments. * Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, engineering best practices, system baselines, and technical roadmaps. * Lead infrastructure modernization efforts, technology refresh projects, migrations, and lifecycle management activities. * Manage enterprise storage solutions, data protection strategies, backups, disaster recovery capabilities, and capacity planning initiatives. * Administer enterprise identity and authentication services including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file services. * Plan and execute system upgrades, firmware updates, patches, maintenance activities, and change management procedures. * Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve operational stability and performance. * Collaborate with cybersecurity personnel to ensure compliance with security requirements, vulnerability remediation efforts, STIG implementation, and system hardening activities. * Evaluate emerging technologies and provide technical recommendations for infrastructure improvements and future-state architectures. * Develop and maintain technical documentation including architectures, diagrams, procedures, standards, and operational runbooks. * Provide senior-level technical guidance and mentoring to infrastructure personnel and serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues. * Support planned after-hours maintenance windows and emergency response efforts to maintain system availability and operational readiness. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Standard working environment Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): * 10+ years of progressive experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure environments, including compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and identity services. * Expert-level knowledge of Cisco UCS infrastructure, including architecture, administration, lifecycle management, firmware maintenance, capacity planning, and performance optimization in highly available enterprise environments. * Strong experience with enterprise virtualization platforms, including VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, Hyper-V, Nutanix, or equivalent technologies supporting mission-critical workloads. * Advanced experience designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, routing, switching, segmentation, and network security best practices. * Demonstrated ability to architect and establish enterprise infrastructure standards, develop technical roadmaps, evaluate emerging technologies, and lead infrastructure modernization initiatives aligned with business objectives. * Extensive hands-on experience administering Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, authentication systems, and enterprise identity management solutions. * Strong experience managing enterprise storage platforms, including SAN, NAS, backup, disaster recovery, replication, capacity planning, and data protection strategies. * Advanced understanding of Windows server operating systems, including system hardening, patch management, performance tuning, automation, and lifecycle management. * Experience leading infrastructure maintenance and operational activities within production environments, including change management, patching, upgrades, disaster recovery testing, and after-hours maintenance windows. * Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects from design through implementation, collaborating across technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and operational readiness. * Expert troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform root cause analysis, resolve critical infrastructure issues, and develop long-term corrective actions for enterprise systems. * Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and infrastructure security practices, including vulnerability remediation, system hardening, access controls, compliance requirements, and secure infrastructure design. * Experience developing technical documentation, operational procedures, infrastructure standards, and architectural diagrams to support enterprise governance and knowledge management. * Proven ability to serve as a senior technical leader and mentor, providing guidance to engineers, establishing best practices, and driving continuous improvement across infrastructure operations. Security Clearance Required: * TS / SCI Minimum Education: * High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum Years of Experience: * 10+years of progressive experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure environments, including compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and identity services. Required Certifications: * This is an IAT3 level billet. Applicant must have: * Required IAT Certs: one or more of the following: CISM, CISSP, or equivalent senior-level baseline certification * Required vendor certification in one or more relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, NetApp, Pure Storage, HP, Dell, Linux+, Red Hat, HBSS, ACAS).
