Who We're Looking For
The Sr. Infrastructure and Capacity Optimization Engineer is an instrumental role and manages the daily reporting and decisions for capacity management. The primary focus is to ensure ongoing accuracy of data, expansion of data and adhering to the ongoing engineering standards that allow for proper capacity planning to occur. This role requires knowledge of an infrastructure engineering discipline, capacity monitoring tooling experience or data reporting/analysis experience.
This position works closely with infrastructure engineers, product owners, and operations teams to intake requests, maintain datasets and dashboards, and follow established processes for updates, validations, and status reporting.
Some of What You'll Do
Scope of the Role:
  • Direct Reports: This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily reporting, validating accuracy and expansion of capacity data, in adherence of engineering standards that allow for capacity management decisions to be made.
  • Create hardware/quote/work requests from stakeholders; assign required fields, categorize, and route items per defined process.
  • Daily ownership of work-queue hygiene (statuses, owners, timestamps, notes) for infrastructure/capacity requests and follow up on missing information.
  • Create and maintain vendor and partner data (pricing, lead times, availability, quality notes) into standardized Excel templates that drive SLA adherence and business reporting.
  • Perform first-pass validation and decision of submitted data (required fields present, formatting, obvious inconsistencies) and flag exceptions to senior engineers.
  • Generate recurring reports and basic dashboards (e.g., request aging, inventory deltas, vendor scorecard inputs, headroom data supplied by engineers) and distribute to stakeholders via agreed channels.
  • Update reference trackers for Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure version control, naming conventions, and audit-ready documentation are followed.
  • Support incident and change-review documentation by recording timelines, actions taken, and post-activity status updates as directed.
  • Follow established data governance practices (templates, metric definitions, file locations) and suggest small process improvements to reduce errors and rework.

Experience, Education, and Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management and capacity planning.

Additional Requirements:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Software Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
