About the job Senior Civil Engineer
ACTIVITIES - Site Civil Senior Engineer
The Site Civil Engineer position will include responsibility for the technical completion of civil engineering site development projects and related work activities including: scope definition, feasibility studies, design proposal development, design narratives, formal engineering reports, specification review, design calculations, system modeling, review of geotechnical reports, review of site surveys, client review meetings, city development meetings, site construction observation reports, formal meeting documentation, answer construction and bid requests for information and collaboration with in-house and remote teams.
The Site Civil Engineer candidate must be able to participate and thrive within a multi-discipline team environment delivering well-coordinated projects in a timely manner and within team budgets. Limited local, regional, and national travel for the purposes of documenting existing conditions is an applicable part of the job.
Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) required. (Multi-state)
Experience: 5-10 years of civil design
Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D software required.
Familiarity with industry standards for illustration of civil and design
Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
Ability to prepare proposals for projects, including estimating fees
This position will provide an excellent opportunity to an individual to be part of the Civil Team Leadership Group: First leading with strong technical skills to solve site development civil challenges for clients and secondarily helping the civil team's continuous improvement efforts in setting up design processes, QAQC checklists and strong production drawing and modeling templates (Civil 3D).
The work varies across local, regional, and national (we are licensed to do work in the lower 48 states). The work is also diverse in nature serving Federal Government, Local Municipal, Retail, Commercial, Healthcare, and Industrial clients. This position will provide an individual the opportunity to lead large multi-million-dollar, multi-discipline projects as the Civil Discipline Lead or allow the individual to provide oversite of numerous smaller projects while providing direction and mentoring of civil designers and technicians.
SKILLS
Familiarity with current design trends and local codes
Familiarity with Federal Facility Criteria Whole Building Design Guide
Familiarity with industry standards for illustration of civil and design
Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
Ability to prepare proposals for projects, including estimating fees
Ability to accommodate overnight travel by car and by air
Ability to communicate well with clients and potential clients written and verbal
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3-D software
