Gateway Vibe Mental Health Solutions is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team as a Senior Mental Health Counselor. This full-time, remote position is centered around providing specialized counseling services tailored to the unique needs of our geriatric client population in Rochester, New York. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the mental health challenges faced by elderly individuals and demonstrate a compassionate, collaborative approach to therapy.

Work Environment

This position allows for remote work, providing the flexibility to connect with clients and colleagues from the comfort of your own home. While primarily remote, our outpatient office setting encourages collaboration among mental health professionals and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care for our clients. Our standard work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a consistent and structured work schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying their specific psychological, emotional, and developmental needs.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions designed to address emotional challenges commonly associated with aging, such as grief, loss, and adjustment to life changes.
  • Work in conjunction with interdisciplinary healthcare teams—including physicians, nurses, and social workers—to create personalized care plans that reflect the diverse needs of geriatric clients.
  • Provide education and training to staff and family members on effective strategies to enhance the emotional well-being and quality of life for elderly individuals.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • A current, valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in geriatric counseling and mental health support.
  • Completion of additional training or certifications focusing on geriatric mental health and issues related to aging.
