Cypress Landing Golf Course, managed by Bobby Jones Links, is a premier 18-hole, par-72 masterpiece designed by renowned architect Bill Love with Ault, Clark & Associates. Nestled in Chocowinity, North Carolina, the course has earned a coveted 4-Star Rating from Golf Digest and accolades from the USGA and Carolina Golf Association.
Cypress Landing is hiring for Golf Course Maintenance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the course remains in excellent condition, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for golfers. The role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and requires a strong attention to detail and a passion for landscape care.
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Operation of riding mowers and general lawn care maintenance.
  • Golf Course set-up to include cutting cups, setting tees, repairing greens, raking bunkers and mowing greens, tees, fairways and roughs.
  • Maintain golf course including bunkers, greens, driving range and tee boxes; mow bunker faces, prune trees; performs pest control.
  • Assists in special construction projects as required.
  • Assists in irrigation maintenance and repair.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
  • Use hand tools and power tools such as weed eaters, edgers, backpack blowers, pole saws and chain saws for certain jobs.
  • Safely operates the maintenance equipment.
  • Cleans and inspects machinery before and after each use.
  • Reports any mechanical issues to the Mechanic / Superintendent.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Licenses and Special Requirements
  • Prior experience or knowledge in horticulture, landscaping or irrigation is preferred.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Knowledge of lawn care practices and landscape maintenance techniques.
  • Experience with gardening, land management or related fields is a plus.
  • Strong physical stamina to perform outdoors within various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Basic understanding of maintenance procedures for golf courses is a plus.
  • Available to work weekdays, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Knowledge of the game of golf is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods walking, standing, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, or kneeling.
  • Must be physically able to operate power equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
