Job description

The Memphis Grizzlies are seeking a creative and qualified individual to lead our social and digital content efforts for the Memphis Hustle and provide secondary support to the Memphis Grizzlies. There will also be an opportunity to support the FedExForum brand as needed. This position’s day-to-day will focus on content creation, production and promotion for the Memphis Hustle’s social media platforms with the goal of creating brand excitement, cultivating fan interaction, engagement and discussion around each brand and promoting ticket sales efforts and other revenue streams. This position will also be responsible for assisting with the strategy, planning, development, and deployment of social acquisition campaigns and will assist in managing the departments' social distribution calendar across all brands.


  • Create and manage content for non-sponsored and sponsored social pages and posts, including but not limited to, stories, social contests, live feature broadcasts, sweepstakes and promotional content across all social media platforms including, but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, TikTok and others as applicable. 
  • Maintain consistent communication practices across all social media platforms and best practices established by Director, Social Programming & Basketball Information and the Organic Social Team. 
  • Develop / maintain and enhance brand voices for Memphis Hustle & support brands across all social media platforms. 
  • Lead coverage for all Memphis Hustle games (home and away), post-game status updates highlights and more to social media channels throughout the seasons. 
  • Coverage support for Memphis Grizzlies games & FedExForum events, create relevant content for upcoming shows, games and events thru all social channels plus day-of show or gameday opportunities.  
  • Support Social Media & Digital Content Producers covering community events, promotional activations and other team/partner related events or activations. 
  • Edit and manipulate photos/videos/graphics/etc. for use on social media channels. 
  • Assist Director, Social Programming & Basketball information and Sr Manager of Social Programing & Strategy in working with the marketing department to develop digital data acquisition strategies for Grizzlies, Hustle, Grizz Gaming and FedExForum for all social platforms. 
  • Share community feedback, respond appropriately and identify potential issues 
  • Work with Director of Creative and the creative service team to ensure social content team can edit and manipulate photos/videos/graphics/etc. for use on social channels under brand guidelines along with coordinating the creation of digital graphics for social use. 
  • Identify opportunities for emerging digital and social platforms, trends and potential new vendor relationships that can add value to social presence. 
  • Conceptualize, shoot, edit, and publish short form video optimized for Instagram Reels, Tik Tok, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms. Produce behind the scenes content, player features, gameday storytelling, and culturally relevant moments that drive engagement. 
  • Build and execute content plans tailored to each platform’s best practices, including pacing, captioning, audio trends, retention strategies, and algorithm friendly formats. 
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance the brand voices for the Memphis Hustle and Memphis Grizzlies brands ensuring tone, personality, and storytelling align with organizational goals. 
  • Stay ahead of digital and social trends, new platforms, video formats, creator driven storytelling, and potential vendor relationships that can elevate the organization’s social presence. 
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

  • Bacholor's Degree in Broadcast, Communications, Journalism, Photography or related and appropriate majors.  
  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience working in a digital media role with a brand. 
  • Must possess superior written and verbal skills, editorial judgment, and knowledge of digital culture. 
  • Strong experience with shortform video creation, including shooting, lighting, audio, editing, color correction, and motion graphics. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, CapCut, or similar tools. 
  • Ability to craft compelling narratives optimized for vertical video, fastpaced consumption, and platform algorithms. 
  • Must possess proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and basic video/audio editing. Premiere and After Effects preferred. 
  • Detail-oriented and strong organization and project management skills. 
  • Thorough understanding (in a business capacity) of social platforms including, but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, TikTok, and Snapchat. 
  • Strong knowledge and passion for social media and NBA basketball. 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Actively follow new technology trends and apply within Grizzlies digital strategy where appropriate. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards in all work. 
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, are required 
  • Experience with social media aggregation platforms and analytics tracking software. 
  • Must be willing and able to work non-traditional hours in non-traditional settings (nights and weekends as required). 
  • Ability to interpret performance data, identify trends, and adjust content strategies to maximize reach and engagement.
