Job description

Manager of Project Management

Austin, TX

I'm working with a growing power infrastructure organization seeking a Manager of Project Management to lead a team responsible for the delivery of major capital construction projects.

This is a senior leadership opportunity focused on developing Project Managers, improving project execution, and providing oversight across a portfolio of complex infrastructure projects from early-stage planning through construction and completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of Project Managers responsible for major capital projects

• Provide portfolio-level oversight across project schedules, budgets, forecasting, risk, and overall delivery

• Support contracting strategies, procurement, contractor selection, negotiations, and change management

• Partner closely with engineering, construction, operations, commercial teams, and external contractors

• Identify project risks, remove delivery roadblocks, and ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget

• Drive consistency and best practices across project management processes, reporting, and project controls

What We're Looking For

• Previous management experience leading Project Managers or project delivery teams

• Strong background delivering large-scale construction or capital projects within the power, energy, utility, EPC, or related infrastructure sectors

• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contractors, procurement, and commercial risk

• Strong understanding of construction project execution from planning through commissioning or handover

• Ability to operate at both a strategic and hands-on level within a growing organization

• Strong leadership, communication, commercial, and stakeholder management skills

Direct transmission and distribution experience is beneficial but isn't essential — the priority is finding an experienced project management leader with a strong construction background within the broader power and energy industry.

What's on Offer

• Opportunity to lead and develop an established Project Management function

• High visibility across major capital infrastructure projects and senior leadership

• Ability to influence how projects are structured, managed, and delivered across the organization

• Long-term career growth within a growing power infrastructure business

• Austin-based position with occasional travel to project sites
