Description:
Waypoint's client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support mission-critical development efforts within a secure environment supporting NASIC. This role focuses on designing, developing, and integrating modern full stack applications, with an emphasis on scalability, reliability, and performance.
The selected candidate will lead development efforts, contribute to system architecture decisions, and collaborate across teams to deliver innovative solutions. This position is ideal for experienced engineers who thrive in Agile, DevSecOps, and cloud-enabled environments, and who can take ownership of key technical components across the software lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement new software capabilities across front-end and back-end systems.
  • Resolve issues in existing codebases and enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Integrate applications with external services, APIs, and enterprise tools.
  • Develop and maintain web applications using modern front-end frameworks (React or Angular).
  • Build and support RESTful web services and backend systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
  • Support containerized deployments using Docker or similar technologies.
  • Utilize version control systems such as Git and manage tasks using JIRA.
  • Operate within Linux-based environments to support development and deployment activities.
  • Take ownership of project components and deliver solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Required:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in full stack web development
  • Experience with front-end development using React or Angular
  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Experience with backend languages such as Golang, Node.js, or Python
  • Experience working in Linux environments
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Podman, or similar)
  • Experience with version control systems (Git)
  • Experience using JIRA or similar issue tracking tools
  • Strong communication skills and ability to convey technical concepts clearly

Desired:
  • 10+ years of experience in full stack software development
  • Experience with authentication and authorization frameworks (Keycloak, OAuth2, OIDC, Open Policy Agent)
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Elasticsearch)
