Job description

About VentureOut:

VentureOut is a venture within Blakhausens, a founder-led holding company. This posting is managed through our sister company KEEN Creative.

VentureOut is an integrated, AI and technology driven business valuation and exit-readiness ecosystem designed to help small and mid-sized business owners understand, grow, and ultimately realize the full value of their companies. By bridging the gap between daily operations and long-term exit readiness, we provide a data-backed path for owners to understand, grow, and ultimately capture the full financial potential of their business.

As a fast-moving, technology-driven organization, we value structure, speed, execution momentum, and absolute professional excellence. We are now seeking a Full-Stack Developer to help us build, harden, and scale the core systems behind our platform as it grows across North America.

This role is foundational. The person who steps into it will build the systems that the rest of VentureOut runs on, and will grow their scope and technical ownership as the company scales.

About the Role:

The Full-Stack Developer will work directly under our Senior Technology Lead to build and own core systems across the VentureOut platform. This is a hands-on development role: you will turn architecture and requirements into robust, production-grade code, taking full ownership of your domain with a high degree of independence.

You will help build our platform through its next major stage of development and then continue to extend, harden, and scale it as the business grows. It is a build-first role with a long runway — designed for a developer who wants to expand their scope and technical responsibility alongside the company, rather than stay confined to a single system or project.

You will work as part of a lean, fast-moving technical team that builds with the help of modern AI tooling, taking full ownership of your domain while driving accountability.

What You’ll Do:

1. Build & Own Core Platform Systems

  • Take architecture and requirements from the technical lead and turn them into robust, well-structured, production-grade code — owning features and services across the stack, from the data layer through to delivery.
  • Build and maintain the data architecture, APIs, and synchronization that unify our tools into a single, automated platform.
  • Develop the calculation and data-processing components that keep our financial logic accurate, isolated, and secure.

2. Strengthen Integration, Performance & Infrastructure

  • Build secure authentication and role-based access, with strict multi-tenant isolation of client accounts and data.
  • Develop the integrations and the automated reporting and data pipelines that connect our platform to internal and partner systems.
  • Provision and manage the cloud infrastructure the platform runs on, and design and run performance and load testing to keep it fast and stable as usage scales.

3. Safeguard Security, Quality & Reliability

  • Implement encryption, data isolation, and SOC 2-aligned data-handling practices.
  • Build the automated regression and validation tests that keep the platform stable as it evolves.
  • Review code with rigor — including AI-generated code — with particular attention to concurrency and security.

4. Build Efficiently with Modern AI Tooling

  • Use AI development tools, such as Claude, to accelerate scaffolding, boilerplate, and test generation — paired with the engineering judgment to review, harden, and take full ownership of what they produce.

5. Grow With the Platform

  • Take on new systems and broader technical ownership as our product roadmap expands and the team scales across North America.

Who You Are:

You bring:

  • 3–7 years of experience building production software, with particular strength at the backend and platform layer.
  • Strong command of relational databases, APIs and middleware, authentication and access control, and data security.
  • Solid cloud and DevOps experience — provisioning infrastructure, CI/CD, and managing environments.
  • A track record with performance and load testing, optimization, and resolving concurrency issues in systems under real traffic.
  • Comfort working in an AI-assisted development workflow, paired with the discipline to rigorously review AI-generated code.
  • The ability to own a domain and deliver it independently within an architecture set by others — and the appetite to take on broader scope over time.

Your working style:

  • You’re steady and methodical, and you write code that holds up under load and scrutiny.
  • You thrive in environments with change, ambiguity, and evolving priorities, and you keep your domain moving without needing to be managed through every step.
  • You think in systems, not tasks, and you care about the integrity of what you build.
  • You enjoy both building new systems and extending and hardening existing ones.
  • You partner effectively within a lean, fast-moving technical team — taking full ownership of your work while staying aligned with the architecture and standards set by the technical lead.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

In the first 12 months, you will have:

  • Taken ownership of core platform systems and delivered them reliably to production.
  • Built data, integration, and infrastructure foundations that are stable, secure, and performant under real load.
  • Established automated testing and security practices that keep the platform dependable as it evolves.
  • Become a trusted, independent owner of your domain within the technical team.
  • Demonstrated the reliability and range to take on broader technical responsibility as VentureOut scales.

Compensation:

  • This is a full-time professional position.
  • Compensation will be aligned with experience, with potential for performance based incentives as VentureOut expands.

How to Apply:

If you’re energized by building the core systems that a platform runs on — and want a foundational role with room to grow on a fast-moving, AI-driven FinTech team — we’d love to hear from you.
