What is the opportunity?
The Advanced Observability team offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of product, innovation, and strategy; shaping the future of RBC's Cyber Technology Observability. In this dynamic role, you'll dive deep into cutting-edge technologies, re-imagining the way we monitor our services, and ensuring seamless operations for network and endpoint security technologies. You will collaborate with brilliant minds across the organization, uncovering insights from vast amounts of data, and developing game-changing solutions that push the boundaries of what's possible. What will you do?

  • Develop continuous compliance monitoring for network and endpoint security posture management to ensure regulatory readiness
  • Develop automated data integrity validation across key control and operational metrics.
  • Develop intuitive dashboards using modern front-end technologies to visualize key performance metrics
  • Create and enhance APIs that allow seamless integration between tools/technologies and other systems within the organization
  • Develop and optimize back-end services for ingesting, processing, and querying large volumes of data
  • Develop automated alerting systems that proactively notify teams of performance issues using custom-built logic
  • Work closely with DevOps and SRE teams to ensure data accuracy across various distributed systems
  • Implement best practices for data security and compliance, ensuring all data are handled securely and in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Work in an Agile environment using Jira to manage tasks and meet deadlines

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:

  • 4+ years of experience developing and shipping code for production systems
  • Knowledge in building highly scalable, robust, and fault-tolerant applications
  • Front-End Development: HTML/CSS, React, Front-End Framework/Libraries, JavaScript, TypeScript
  • Back-End Development: Python, Relational Databases (PostgreSQL or similar), APIs, Authentication & Authorization
  • DevOps and Deployment: Version Control (Git), CI/CD, Containerization (Ansible), Automation & Scripting, Automated Unit Testing
  • Machine Learning/AI Frameworks
  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiar with Endpoint and/or Network Security Technologies
  • Tools/platforms: N8N, Tines, Databricks
