Must demonstrate a strong appreciation of programming and computer science principles and patterns in general.

  • Strong in Java / has worked in an Oracle environment
  • 6+ years of hands on coding experience
  • Very strong communicator and team player

A plus:

  • Java Spring, JEE, Struts, Agile, Messaging, Orchestration, Services (SOAP/REST), SOA governance, SSO (Single Sign on)
  • Experience writing code against large data sets: 10TB plus.
  • Working on the challenges associated with high volume systems

Additional Skillset:

  • Lead and mentor some of the talented senior engineers.
  • Design patterns for performance improvements
  • Hashmaps and collections
  • Multi-threading and synchronization
  • Specific examples of previous work improving performance of large Java applications
  • Database connections and resource leaks
  • Profiling and static code analysis tools experience
  • Design for high volume systems with asynchronous messaging
  • Experience refactoring of code to introduce design patterns
  • Classloader types
