We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our Information Technology team in Boone, NC. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the role of Senior Software Developer,you will have the opportunity to:
  • Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality product features across web and mobile interfaces, APIs, services, and data layers using test-driven development, AI tools, and modern engineering practices.
  • Partner with technical leadership to design and deliver scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable systems that address user needs and support strategic organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with product owners and designers to clarify requirements, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and ensure solutions balance user experience, business objectives, and technical integrity.
  • Mentor developers by modeling strong software engineering practices, sharing technical expertise, and fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, accountability, and quality.
  • Take shared ownership of the full product lifecycle, including integration, deployment, incident response, and continuous improvement of product performance, reliability, and overall impact.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What are the qualifications?

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field of study and five (5) or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Comprehensive experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including modern software engineering, testing practices, techniques, and quality standards.
  • Strong technical experience with full-stack application development across front-end, back-end, and database technologies. Preferred technology experience includes C#, .NET/.NET Core, Angular, and relational databases such as MS SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Demonstrated experience applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and technologies to enhance software development, testing, problem-solving, and overall productivity.
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, an opportunity to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire.
