Position Summary...What you'll do...
Are you a data and analytics leader who thrives on building high-performing teams and transforming complex business challenges into strategic, scalable solutions? Walmart, the world's largest retailer, is looking for a Senior Manager to lead the Delivery Data & Analytics practice within our Decision Sciences organization. In this role, you won't just work with data — you'll set the direction for how data is used to power ecommerce transportation at scale, guide a team of talented analysts, and serve as a trusted partner to senior Operations, Finance, and Product leaders.
What You'll Do...
This role leads the Decision Sciences, Delivery Data & Analytics team — a BI function that supports ecommerce transportation's daily operations. You will own the analytics strategy, develop and grow a team of analysts, and ensure that leaders across the business can navigate billions of data points to make the best decisions quickly and confidently. You will be deeply embedded in the Operations and Finance organizations, driving alignment on priorities and translating ambiguous business problems into measurable analytical solutions.
You'll make an impact from day one if you bring:
  • Proven people management experience— a track record of hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing analytics talent (3+ years managing teams)
  • Technical depth in SQL and BI tools— the ability to guide and review complex analytical work and set standards for data quality and visualization (6+ years)
  • Strategic business acumen— the ability to connect analytics to business outcomes, particularly within Supply Chain, Last Mile Delivery, eCommerce, or Parcel Operations
  • Executive presence and communication skills— experience presenting to and influencing Director and VP-level stakeholders across Operations, Finance, and Product
  • Analytical leadership at scale— experience managing an analytics roadmap and balancing short-term operational needs with long-term capability building

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a teamof Data Analysts and BI developers — fostering a culture of excellence, intellectual curiosity, and continuous improvement; provide coaching, performance feedback, and career development guidance
  • Own the analytics roadmapfor Delivery Data & Analytics, aligning team priorities with strategic goals across ecommerce transportation Operations and Finance
  • Drive strategic decision-makingby translating high-level business questions into analytical frameworks that deliver timely, accurate, and actionable insights
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders(Directors, VPs) across Operations, Finance, and Product — establishing credibility as a trusted analytics partner and communicating findings clearly and compellingly
  • Oversee the design and governance of scalable data solutions— including ETL pipelines, centralized data tables, and reporting infrastructure — ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and latency standards are met
  • Set standards for data visualization and self-service BI— ensuring Tableau dashboards and reporting tools effectively monitor KPIs, quantify the impact of operational changes, and empower users to make decisions independently
  • Champion data quality and documentationacross multiple systems and operational domains; hold the team accountable to rigorous standards for data completeness and reliability
  • Drive automation and efficiencyin reporting workflows, partnering with the team to leverage Python and other scripting tools for metrics prioritization, outlier detection, and reporting at scale
  • Represent Decision Sciencesin cross-functional forums; contribute to the broader organizational data and analytics strategy and advocate for team resources and investment
  • Recruit and scale the teamin alignment with business growth — identifying capability gaps and building a bench of analytical talent

Minimum Qualifications
Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position.
  • Option 1:Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, or related field AND 5 years' experience in data analysis, data science, or related field, including at least 2 years in a people management or team lead capacity
  • Option 2:Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Information Technology AND 3 years' experience in data analysis or data science, including at least 2 years in a people management or team lead capacity
  • Option 3:7 years' experience in data analysis, data science, or related field, including at least 3 years in a people management or team lead capacity
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and at least one BI/visualization platform (Tableau preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in ecommerce operations, parcel carrier operations, or last-mile delivery analytics
  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling analytics teams and capabilities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for workflow automation and analysis
  • Experience with data engineering concepts and pipeline development (ETL design, data modeling, data warehousing)
  • Experience with data manipulation and preparation tools such as Knime, Alteryx, R, or Tableau Prep
  • Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, or Information Technology
  • Successful completion of assessments in data analysis and Business Intelligence tools and scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, Spark, Scala, R, Power BI, or Tableau)
  • Strong executive communication and data storytelling skills with demonstrated ability to influence without authority
