Job Overview

Bloomingdale's is seeking a Senior Manager of Data Analytics for a highimpact analytics team responsible for delivering industryleading dashboards, reporting, and strategic insights. This leader will drive the development and integration of advanced analytics and AIpowered solutions across the Marketing, Digital, and Customer domains, enabling the organization to make faster, smarter, and more customer centric decisions.

The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of technical depth, customer analytics expertise, and cross functional leadership. They will partner closely with Data Science, Data Engineering, and business stakeholders to design scalable data products, operationalize machine learning use cases, and ensure insights are delivered in intuitive, actionable formats for business users.

This role requires a strategic thinker who can translate complex analytical concepts into clear narratives, influence senior stakeholders, and champion the adoption of AI and advanced analytics across the enterprise. The Senior Manager will also be a thought leader and mentor to a team of Data Analysts, fostering a culture of curiosity, innovation, and operational excellence by helping them improve their technical skills and capabilities.

Essential Functions 

  • Lead the development of dashboards, reporting, and analytics products that drive decisionmaking across Marketing, Digital, and Customer functions.
  • Coach and mentor a team of talented data analysts across Digital, Marketing and Customer functions while we usher in a new era of innovative analytics at the company.
  • Drive customer analytics initiatives, including segmentation, personalization, customer journey, MTA/MMM, and behavioral insights.
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to senior leaders, translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering to ensure data pipelines, models, and tools are reliable, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables across Macy's and Bloomingdale's teams.
  • Champion data literacy and the adoption of AIdriven insights across the organization.
  • Partner closely with Data Science, Data Engineering, Technology, and Business Units to drive adoption, integration of advanced analytics, statistics, and ML output into dashboards and reporting, as well as provide direct analytical support where needed. 
  • Lead the development of and compliance with analytics standards, including guidelines for tailoring analytics methodologies to specific use case needs.
  • Create compelling interactive visualizations and presentations to enhance decision making capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in Analytics, Data Science, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 5-8+ years of progressive experience in analytics, data strategy, or related fields, with demonstrated leadership of high performing analytics teams.
  • Experience driving analytics initiatives in a complex, cross functional environment, ideally within retail, ecommerce, or customer centric organizations.

Technical Skills: 

  • Deep understanding of analytical, statistical, and machine learning methods, with the ability to guide teams in applying them to real business problems.
  • Extensive handson experience with SQL and Python for data manipulation, modeling, and automation.
  • Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, BigTable, Pub/Sub, DataFlow, DataProc) and both realtime and batch data processing architectures.
  • Expertise in instrumentation (tagging, JSON), experimentation frameworks, and product analytics, including A/B testing and causal inference.
  • Proven ability to translate advanced analytics, AI/ML outputs, and complex data concepts into clear insights that drive measurable business value.
  • Proficiency with modern BI and analytics tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Google Data Studio, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Outlier.ai, PyCharm, or similar).
  • Strong customer analytics background, with a track record of turning data into customercentric strategies.
  • Experience partnering with Data Science and Data Engineering teams to operationalize data pipelines and AI/ML models and build scalable data products.
  • Customer-centric, analytics expert with experience in accelerating analytics use cases and transforming data into business value in the retail/department store context.

Leadership & Other Skills 

  • Exceptional ability to communicate technical concepts, data insights, and AIdriven recommendations to both technical and nontechnical audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated success managing stakeholders across Marketing, Digital, Customer, and Technology teams, aligning priorities and driving shared outcomes.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and managing multiple concurrent projects in a fastpaced, crossfunctional setting.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and teamdevelopment skills, with the ability to elevate analytical talent and foster a culture of innovation and accountability.
  • Creative, strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem solving skills; able to connect data insights to broader business strategy.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.

  • Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions.
