Job Title - Flowback Person in Charge
Location - Laredo, TX
Work Schedule - Rotation 7 days on / 4 days off, then 7 days on / 3 days off
- 12 hours per day
Duration - 12+ months
Target Compensation - $43-50/hour DOE
Flowback Person in Charge - Role Overview
In the oil and gas industry, the Flowback Person in Charge is the senior field operator responsible for overseeing the flowback phase of a well's production cycle. This role ensures the well is safely and efficiently managed during the early, high?pressure, high?sandy production period after hydraulic fracturing or well stimulation
Core Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain flowback equipment: Manage flowback tanks, separators, and related systems to ensure accurate testing and safe operation
  • Monitor production data: Record hourly flow rates, pressures, and volumes; troubleshoot equipment issues and report anomalies to supervisors
  • Safety leadership: Serve as the Safety Lead and Person in Charge for incident reporting, ensuring all operators and visitors follow JSA (Job Safety Analysis) procedures and hazard awareness
  • Equipment maintenance: Perform routine inspections, clean sand filters, dump sand from separators, and gauge frac tanks
  • Communication and coordination: Pass on site changes to operators and management; coordinate with transport trucks, equipment techs, and other teams
  • Compliance and reporting: Ensure daily reports, cost tracking, and hazard observations are submitted on time

Skills and Qualifications
  • Technical knowledge: Understanding of oil and gas process flow, separator operation, and sand management
  • Problem?solving: Ability to diagnose and fix malfunctions quickly and safely
  • Safety focus: Strong adherence to safety protocols, hazard assessments, and environmental compliance
  • Organizational skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast?paced, high?pressure environment
  • Experience: 8+ year of lease or flowback operator experience
