Responsibilities
Position Summary
The Fixed Asset Accounting Accountant II supports the accurate tracking, accounting, and reporting of company fixed assets. This role helps maintain the fixed asset register, supports asset transfers, disposals, verifications, reporting, and assists with light monthly close activities, including journal entries and related reconciliations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with asset tracking systems, and able to collaborate with accounting, finance, operations, IT, and asset custodians to ensure fixed asset records are complete, accurate, and compliant with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update fixed asset records in the asset register and related tracking tools.
  • Support asset transfer, disposal, retirement, and verification processes, ensuring required approvals and documentation are obtained.
  • Assist with annual or periodic physical asset verification activities and follow up on missing, obsolete, or incorrectly assigned assets.
  • Prepare fixed asset reports, schedules, and supporting documentation for management, audit, and internal control requirements.
  • Support monthly close activities related to fixed assets, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and review of asset clearing or related accounts.
  • Partner with asset custodians, department managers, IT, facilities, and finance teams to resolve fixed asset questions and discrepancies.
  • Review asset additions, transfers, disposals, and retirements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company policy.
  • Assist with depreciation, capitalization, and fixed asset accounting support as needed.
  • Maintain organized documentation and support for fixed asset transactions and audit requests.
  • Identify opportunities to improve fixed asset processes, reporting, documentation, and controls.

The salary range of $67,000 - $113,000 is just one component of Panasonic's total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual's knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.

  • Exposure to SOX, internal controls, audit support, or fixed asset policy compliance preferred.
  • Experience preparing or supporting monthly close journal entries and account reconciliations.
