Summary
Club Quarters Hotels is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive General Ledger Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will be a key driver of financial integrity, overseeing day-to-day general ledger maintenance, full-cycle accounting, and financial reporting across our collection of hotels.
The ideal candidate does more than just managing numbers, they act as a collaborative partner to our hotel teams, translating financial data into clear, actionable insights that support the ongoing growth and operational success of Club Quarters Hotels.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes in accordance with established reporting requirements and deadlines.
  • Review daily revenue batches and confirm that activity is complete, accurate, and balanced for each assigned hotel.
  • Record, balance, and post daily receipts for hotel restaurants, clubs, and other operating departments.
  • Reconcile credit card receipts between hotel operating systems, payment processors, and bank accounts.
  • Monitor and reconcile daily cash activity for assigned locations.
  • Provide accounting oversight and support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activity for assigned locations.
  • Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations, research reconciling items, and resolve identified discrepancies.
  • Review and record credit card chargebacks and prepare monthly chargeback analyses.
  • Prepare monthly workpapers, balance sheet account reconciliations, and other financial analyses required for month-end and year-end close.
  • Research and correct account variances and other discrepancies identified during the close and reconciliation processes.
  • Prepare and record journal entries, including entries related to prepaid expenses, fixed-asset depreciation and amortization, account reclassifications, cash activity, and investment transactions.
  • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns, hotel occupancy tax returns, and other required tax filings.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, supporting documentation, and responses to auditor inquiries.
  • Crosstrain with and provide support to other accounting team members in areas including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, income audit, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
  • Collaborate with hotel and Central Services management on finance and accounting-related matters.
  • Independently research and resolve routine internal and external inquiries and communicate the resolution of discrepancies appropriately.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant accounting experience will be considered.
  • 2-4 years of progressively responsible general ledger accounting experience.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency including Pivot Tables, lookup formulas, conditional formulas and reconciliation of large datasets.
  • Experience using an ERP or general ledger accounting system like Sage X3
  • Experience with hotel property management systems, including Opera Cloud, is preferred
  • Exceptional eye for detail with an ability to spot trends, research variances and translate numbers into actionable insights.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with Central Services leadership and the hotel-operations teams.

Hiring Salary Range: $ 85,000 - $ 95,000 /year
