Job description

We are hiring awesome humans, and we hope that includes you!

Are you looking for more than just a job? At Chewy, you’ll find yourself on a career path with other awesome humans, like yourself. You’ll be part of a culture that values everything that you do, who you are, and the goals you have set for your career. We want to give you the opportunity to grow, earn competitive pay, and be happy while you do it. Sounds simple, but we love it.

Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Rebate Center of Excellence team. This role will be responsible for forecasting, analyzing, and reporting vendor rebate financial performance while partnering closely with Finance, Accounting, Merchandising, Product, Technology, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

The Senior Financial Analyst will own intra-period weekly forecasting and quarterly outlooks, compare forecasted results against actual performance, and identify the key drivers of variances. This individual will translate complex rebate data into clear financial insights, risks, and opportunities that support decision-making and improve forecast accuracy.

Given the materiality and complexity of vendor rebates, this role is critical to identifying financial risks, reducing rebate leakage, and improving visibility into expected results. The ideal candidate will combine strong financial acumen with analytical and operational expertise and will leverage AI, automation, and enhanced data solutions to streamline fragmented or manual processes.

This role provides an opportunity to influence how Chewy forecasts, analyzes, and manages vendor rebates while helping the organization develop best-in-class financial processes and capabilities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own weekly and quarterly vendor rebate forecasting, incorporating historical performance, contractual terms, promotional activity, and business trends to assess risks and opportunities,  and explain key actual-versus-forecast variances.
  • Build and maintain financial models, reporting tools, and dashboards that improve visibility into rebate performance and expected financial outcomes.
  • Leverage AI, automation, and advanced analytics to improve forecasting, variance analysis, data validation, and other manual or fragmented rebate workflows.
  • Partner with Accounting to support rebate accruals, period-end close activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Finance and business partners to understand promotional plans, vendor activity, assortment changes, funding arrangements, and other factors affecting rebate performance.
  • Identify data quality, system, and process gaps that affect forecasting or reporting accuracy and partner with Product and Technology teams to develop scalable solutions.
  • Support the development of standardized forecasting methodologies, controls, documentation, and reporting processes
  • Communicate complex financial findings to business leaders in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.
  • Support strategic initiatives and ad hoc analyses related to vendor funding, promotional effectiveness, rebate optimization, and financial process improvement.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, accounting, data analytics, vendor rebates, or a related financial discipline.
  • Experience developing forecasts, analyzing actual-versus-forecast variances, and identifying key financial and operational drivers.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, accruals, period-end close processes, and financial controls.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience working with large and complex datasets.
  • Experience with Snowflake/SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or other financial reporting and data visualization tools.
  • Experience with ERP or financial systems such as Oracle or a comparable platform.
  • Interest in and experience applying AI, automation, or emerging technologies to improve financial processes and analytics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate data into meaningful financial insights and recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, operate independently, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Bonus:

  • CPA, CMA, MBA, or other relevant professional certification.
  • Experience developing automated forecasting models or AI-enabled financial workflows.
