Purpose:

Athene is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst (Actuarial IT) to help modernize the technology that powers one of the industry's fastest-growing retirement services organizations. In this role, you'll partner closely with Actuarial, Finance, and Technology teams to analyze complex business challenges, shape enterprise technology solutions, and deliver high-quality capabilities supporting actuarial data, finance, reinsurance, and reporting.
As a trusted advisor, you'll bridge business and technology by translating complex requirements into scalable solutions while leveraging data analysis, cloud technologies, and AI-enabled tools to improve productivity and business outcomes. You'll play a key role in advancing Athene's technology modernization efforts while working alongside talented teams across Athene and Apollo in a collaborative, high-performance culture built on our BEAM values

Accountabilities:

Key Deliverables

  • Partner with Actuarial, Finance, Reinsurance, and Technology stakeholders to analyze business processes,facilitaterequirements workshops, and translate complex business needs into scalable technology solutions supporting actuarial and financial operations.

  • Perform hands-on data analysis using SQL and other analytical tools tovalidatebusiness rules, reconcile actuarial and financial data, and support downstream reporting, modeling, and operational decision-making.

  • Drive modernization initiatives by collaborating with engineering teams to improve actuarial data platforms, AWS-based data solutions, system integrations, and overall data quality and accessibility.

  • Support Agile delivery by creating and managing user stories, acceptance criteria, documentation, testing, and production support activities while contributing to continuous improvement across the software delivery lifecycle.

  • Mentor and support Business Systems Analysts by sharing best practices, improving documentation standards, and helping elevate the quality and consistency of business analysis across the team.

  • Leverage AI-enabled tools to enhance business analysis, documentation, data interpretation, and productivity while promoting innovation, critical thinking, and continuous improvement across delivery teams.


Qualifications and Experience:

What You Need to Bring

  • 5+ years of relevant experiencesupporting Actuarial, Finance, Insurance, or other complex financial systems, withdemonstratedsuccess translating business needs into technology solutions, preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of annuity products, including Fixed Annuities (FA), Fixed Indexed Annuities (FIA), reinsurance, liability data, and PGA-related business processes.

  • Advanced SQL and data analysis experience with the ability tovalidatecomplex business rules, interpret financial and actuarial data, and support cloud-based data modernization initiatives, preferably within AWS.

  • Experience working in Agile environmentsutilizingJIRA, Confluence, and modern business analysis practices, along with familiarity using AI-enabled tools to improve analysis, documentation, and delivery outcomes.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability tooperateindependently, influence cross-functional teams, mentor others, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
