Job description

Company Description

Who We Are

AIR Communities is a Multifamily Real Estate Operator headquartered in Denver, CO. We are one of the country's largest owners and operators of multifamily housing, managing high-quality properties in most major markets. At AIR, we value integrity, respect, collaboration, customer focus, and performance. These values are brought to life by our teammates, who are ultimately responsible for our success. When you join our team, you'll work alongside the most dedicated professionals in the industry and open the door to unlimited career opportunities.

Where You Will Work:

Our corporate office is located in the Denver Tech Center. Our office spans the top two floors of the building and features expansive views of the mountains and the downtown skyline.

AIR values relationships and the benefits from working side by side with teammates, therefore this position will be in-office 5 days a week to support the team.

Job Description

AIR Communities is seeking a Senior Financial Systems Analyst to support and evolve our Workday Financials platform, ensuring the system effectively enables critical accounting, finance, procurement, and operational processes.

This role serves as a trusted partner to stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, Procurement, and Operations, helping translate business needs into scalable, sustainable system solutions. The successful candidate will combine deep Workday Financials expertise with strong business acumen, process thinking, and operational ownership to drive continuous improvement, strengthen governance, and enhance the user experience.

This is a highly visible, functional role focused on system configuration, business process optimization, reporting, governance, documentation, and solution delivery. It is not a development role and does not include integration ownership or security administration responsibilities.

Qualifications

Workday Financials Administration & Support

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for Workday Financials users, providing day-to-day support for system, process, configuration, and reporting issues.
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Workday Financials functionality, business processes, workflows, and operational settings.
  • Act as a functional subject matter expert across one or more Workday Financials areas, including:
    • Financial Data Model (FDM)
    • Company and Organizational Structures
    • Business Processes
    • Validation Rules
    • Posting Rules
    • Accounting Configuration
    • Financial Reporting
    • Customer Accounts and Billing
    • Procurement and Supplier Accounts
    • Banking and Settlement
    • Revenue Management
  • Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions that improve reliability and performance.
  • Support Workday release management activities, including impact assessments, testing, documentation updates, and adoption of new functionality.
  • Coordinate testing efforts related to enhancements, upgrades, and configuration changes.

Business Partnership & Solution Delivery

  • Partner closely with Accounting, Finance, Procurement, and operational teams to understand business needs and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable system solutions that improve processes, controls, and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on Workday Financials capabilities, best practices, and process design.
  • Assess enhancement requests by balancing business needs, system impacts, controls, reporting requirements, and long-term sustainability.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure solutions align with organizational objectives and governance standards.

Process Improvement & Governance

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of AIR’s financial processes and how they are supported within Workday.
  • Evaluate the upstream and downstream impacts of system, process, and configuration changes.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance automation, standardization, efficiency, and the overall user experience.
  • Support governance and change management practices that promote consistency, scalability, and operational excellence.
  • Help identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with critical financial processes and system changes.

Reporting, Analytics & Documentation

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, business processes, controls, and support procedures.
  • Develop and support operational, financial, and management reporting solutions.
  • Investigate and resolve reporting issues, data discrepancies, and process exceptions.
  • Maintain documentation that supports knowledge transfer, cross-training, operational continuity, and audit readiness.

What Success Looks Like

  • Workday Financials operates reliably and efficiently across key business functions.
  • Stakeholders view you as a trusted partner and subject matter expert.
  • Financial processes are optimized through thoughtful configuration and process design.
  • Governance standards, controls, and documentation are consistently maintained.
  • Business users can confidently leverage Workday to support decision-making and operational excellence.

This version elevates the role from a systems support position to a strategic business partner role, which tends to resonate more strongly with experienced Workday Financials professionals.
