Position Objective:
The Northeast Series of Lockton Companies is currently seeking a Senior Financial Consultant to handle a diverse range of analytical responsibilities in support of producers, consultants and client teams associated with all Health & Welfare product offerings. They will lead and mentor other associates in development of their financial acumen and support the continued growth of the Series regarding tools and behaviors associated with financial analytics.
Essential Duties:
  • Lead complex analytics processes working with Lockton producers related to new business development for the series
  • Lead financial workstreams and serve as the primary financial strategist on assigned client teams, maintaining final ownership of financial deliverables and recommendations
  • Lead financial analyses and presentations for prospect opportunities and finalist meetings, serving as the primary financial representative when appropriate
  • Translate complex financial analyses into actionable recommendations that support client decision-making and long-term strategy
  • Review claims experience reports to ensure accuracy and consistency for client presentation
  • Develop and peer review claims projections using various sources of information for client presentation
  • Complete peer review and present complex financial projects
  • Model various plan designs and value plan changes
  • Collaborate with specialty practices and core service team members to develop integrated solutions that support client objectives
  • Communicate complex financial concepts effectively to non-financial audiences and senior client stakeholders
  • Review renewals, prepare renewal and budget reports, and assist in renewal negotiations
  • Develop comprehensive health insurance underwriting knowledge including strategic approaches to health care cost management
  • Monitor emerging industry trends, market dynamics, and client performance indicators to support strategic recommendations and internal knowledge sharing
  • Independently attend meetings with client to present projection/renewal results, as needed, function as financial leader for complex client relationships
  • Act as a Facilitator between teams to create consistencies amongst the various reports and processes being monitored
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and career development support to Financial Analysts and Senior Financial Analysts on client teams
  • Provide and facilitate associate training on all components of financials
  • Assist teams with financial analytics related to emerging and changing regulatory issues
  • Assist with analysis related to M&A activities including financial due diligence, harmonization, and proforma budget development for both existing clients and prospects
  • Perform special projects as necessary

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related program with a preference for degrees in math, statistics, or finance PLUS a minimum of 8 years of experience in the health insurance consulting, underwriting or employee benefits arena
  • Must have the ability to compile, analyze, present, and interpret financial and statistical information to facilitate decision making
  • High skill in using computer application software for financial modeling, statistical analysis, and spreadsheet calculations required
  • Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workloads to meet time sensitive deadlines required. Must be results-oriented, with the ability to change priorities as needed
  • Must have above-average verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to interact with Associates at all levels of responsibility, and with Lockton clients and prospects, with tact and diplomacy
  • Willingness and ability to expand knowledge and effectiveness in the benefits industry by successful completion of benefits-related courses required
  • Must have the ability to work independently and supervise/guide others
  • Must have the ability to coordinate workflow for an office related to financial analytics
  • Ability to travel
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship, now or in the future
